boost spike

hi all,

got a small problem with my 2.5 stick turbo shadow. so i did a headgasket and the only mods after puttin i back together is no muffler and no guts in cat. now the thing spikes in all gears and will hit cutout in gears 2-4. other than that it settles down at 6 psi and rises to about 9 at 6k rpm. what's the best way to fix this? i have a granger but am not sure if it will be the fix. any help appreciated.

I sense a disturbance in the force.

It is telling me that you most likly have the stock mitsu turbo on the car, and have reduced the backpressure via exhaust mods, which has induced a case of boost creep.

The same thing happened on my shadow with the 3" cat back and free flowing muffler.

Nothing you can really do about it, except for putting a garrett on there, or a more restrictive muffler.

I went the first route.

Mitsu's like to spike with less exhaust. on my old 91 2.5 T1 with a mitsu would spike like a bitch with the stock boost controler, i put a bleed on it and it helped it from hitting cutout but it would still spike 3-4 psi in 3-5th gears.
I am not sure if i am going to use my s70 turbo for m second motor, i might sell it and that will solve your problems 0-o ttyl good luck

i'm gonna granger it and put a muffler on it. that should help. but oh well. drives good. and the car is for sale. thanks for the help/info

just put a manual boost controller on the mitsu and it will eliminate spike and creep
