I have a problem with my wiring harness for my TII Shelby Z, the wiring harness is getting worn out and will cause the injector to quit firing and rough idling follows.. Does anybody know if Ma'Mopar still makes these harness and if they might know the part number for the harness?

I know about 6 years ago you could still get them for under $50 at the dealership. Of course, that was back when I was on the SDML, so maybe you could check the archives for the P/N?

Ok I called three dealers and I am pissed at the price, two placed called and
said "Oh yeah we can get it, it will run you $127.00 +tax
another flat out said "Discountinued" until I told him I have a part number
4414322 then he changed his mind..
Another one said "$115.00" and it would take 2 days to get.
Something just don't sound right now this...

Mark....
just ran the number p@a out here from a dodge dealer I used to work
for, shows one in S.F. , one in Sherwood? my price $127.00,
before I called, saw your original post....spent 5 hrs trying to find
hardshells and terminal ends on the net....no luck, but I have a couple
of resources yet uncontacted....if I can find correct parts I am going to build some as they seem to be way overpriced.

Thanks!
I got the price down to $115 which is still too much but I will shell it out if I must, but the idea of making a harness is not a bad idea at all..

The one for my CSX is different than yours. The knock sensor is seperate from the injector harness. It is a T1 harnes used on the T2 fuel rail. I called my parts guy and he would sell it to me for $95. It cost about $20 a injector connector.

If Dodge continues this trend of raping its customers on replacement parts for their cars, I won't be purchasing a Dodge when graduation time comes (12 months). I went to the Dodge dealer to price a U-joint for my Ramcharger and they quoted me $90. Afterwards I went to the Ford dealership and the same ujoint was $30. I witnessed the same thing with other parts in the past. WTF is up with Dodge?

Thanks Mike!!
I might let the place in Middletown order that harness, $115.00 is not far off the $99.00 and 10% of the price is the shipping cost.. it's going to cost nearly the same but I need more information before I do anything.

I found these connectors (http://www.holley.com/534-112.asp)for sale on summitracing for $21.99 (http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=HLY%2D534%2D112&N=700+115&autoview=sku)
these connectors already have a wire attached to the terminals (http://www.fiveomotorsport.com/Injector_CONNECT.asp)= less work, more $
Still looking for the more important fuel harness-to-engine harness connector.:dontknow:

I'd go with the ones that don't come with the wire pig tails. That way you can make the wire right size.

Couldn't we just use a new style 6 pin connector and replace it at both ends on the harness? The stock connector is kinda a PITA and it might not hurt to replace both ends if we're going to go all out.

That's what i was thinking. MockGLH and I were talking about this subject, he was saying that we can get the spade connectors located inside the fuel harness plug that connects to the main harness. I was thinking of going to the junkyard to get some of the plugs for free.... er, I mean cheap :-$ :angel9:
Once the harness is made up and tested to ensure full connectivity, I was thinking of using liquid electrical tape to seal the back of the plug (where the wires insert into the plug). This IMO would keep out contamination and provide rigidity to the plug assembly to provide a little more longevity. What do you think? Good idea or bad idea?
Another thing that I would like to use is this wire loom called "Bentley-Harris ConvoShield (http://cableorganizer.com/convoshield/)". Bentley-Harris ConvoShield™ AL was designed to provide thermal protection for components in radiant heat environments. Bentley Harris sleeving is composed of a nylon copolymer base substrate and a highly reflective coating, this product provides protection for wires, cables, and hoses in applications that have heat source temperatures as high as 500°C (1000°F).

That's kind of funny, I was having issues with my 85 GLHT (by issues I mean I went to move the harness on the injectors so I could reach the wastegate vacuum line that had fallen while the car was running and the damn thing sparked and stalled the car) and I pulled it off and took a look at it. It took about $25 in parts but I managed to rebuild the damn thing without any issues and it turned out rather deciently. I never realised that the damn harness would be ~$100, that's insane, I think I need to call my local "five star" dealer...

I am guessing that is the same one for the 87 Shelby Z? What about 85 harness?

The 85 Harness I think had an "L" shaped connector where it plugged into the rest of the wiring while the later ones were rectangular. I never noticed that until I swapped my fuel rail from one off an 86 T1 motor.
