I just received my new clutch today. I can't wait to install it.

looks like it should hold a good clutch dump.

Not as grippy as a 4 or 3 puck disk. But it will definately hold what I'm going to throw at it in the future. They said that the 6 puck disk was the most "streetable" of the ceremic units. Plus, I didn't have to go to a heavy pressure plate to get the same/better results as a kevlar unit with +40% pressure plate. I'll let everyone know how it works out when I get it installed and broken in. 500 miles will seem like an eternaty when I get it installed. I'll have to compose myslef until then.

I'll tell you all what. I'm loving this disk. I don't have but 20 miles or so on it, but I made a mistake (still getting used to the different pedal feel and slip point) and chripped second gear. I couldn't get the old clutch to burn rubber in first (yea, that's how bad it was). I'm hoping to put about 500 miles on her before I get on her really hard. Then the true test in on.

Only one problem. My TOB is making a slight rattle when the trans is in neutral and the clutch out. Hell, it could be my input shaft bearing (I didn't check).

At any rate, the problem of bucking at low rpms are gone (old clutch's hub springs were shot).

Long story short, I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mine makes noise too, has ever since I put it in new. I think the trannys are just naturally noisy. Or like you say the input shaft bearings might be wore, I didn't check mine either.

I dont think it would be your TOB making that noise. When you had the trans out did you feel how much endplay their was on the input shaft? (between .001" and .010" endplay on input shaft is the factory setting) That could just be your synchros making that rattling noise... I rebuilt my A555 trans (.001" on input shaft), and it still had a rattle while in neutral! I found that using synthetic motor oil in these trannys makes them "rattle" more while in neutral. I dont recommend anyone using synthetic oil in these trannys anyways, because last week my tranny started to grind in 2nd, so i dumped the synthetic oil out, and put regular 10w30 in and it shifted perfect again! (synthetic motor oil seems to be bad for synchros) When you press the clutch in and then let it out slowly does that rattle do away?

Nice clutch BTW:thumbsup:

Hope this helps

I always run ATF in mine, tried 10-30W oil in one of my other cars, didn't seem to make any difference.

nice clutch yo!

I just put mine in today and hooked up the clutch pedal.

i pushed it in about 10 times and i felt the burn in my leg, so i think i might regret getting the heavier pp, i hope it dont suck for the street.

mine is kevlar and ceramic, with the heavy pp

I wasn't looking towards the increased pedal effort of the clutch-net's reworked pressure plate. That's why I decided to just go for the full ceramic unit with stock R/T pressure plate. It was sold to me with the promise of holding over 450 lbft of torque(from clutch-net) and my hopes for 15 psi of boost on a 3.0L should be right about right for this setup.

Yea, I didn't check the input shaft for any play at all. I wasn't concerned with it at the moment. My concern was with the install of the clutch and making sure that the rear main seal was still good. I did notice that it is intermittant at times. That's why I'm guessing that it's the TOB and not something else.

By the way, I don't use synth in the gearbox. I've been using 10W-40 since I live in a warmer climate.

Mine is also intermediate at times, but it isn't the TOB. Someone correct me if im wrong, but wouldn't the TOB make the same noise or louder when the clutch pedal is depressed? If you think your TOB is starting to pack up it could take out the fingers on your pressure plate.

Your trans sound like it has a loose input shaft tho..

Go to http://thedodgegarage.com/ then go to Turbo Database, then scroll down to #48, click on Manual & Automatic transaxle data then scoll down to Noise in manual transmissions...Theirs good info as to why they make that noise.

Hope this helps :)

Not always, a lot of times the TOB will make a noise if it doesn't have pressure on it, when you push it in it forces it against the bearings inside it and gets quiet. Unless of course it's dry, then it will make more racket when you push it in. And yes it will take out the clutch fingers, I had it happen in my Lebaron. Piece of it got jammed between the flywheel and the bellhousing and cracked part of the bell.

I was just going by what Cliff Ramsdell said on TD.com... http://www.turbododge.com/forums/showthread.php?t=49332&page=1&pp=15&highlight=cliff+ramsdell

Ah ha, I see. That would make sense, and explain why mine has done it with 2 diferent clutches/TOB's. At least it doesn't hurt it.

That's almost the exact sound. But it's not all the time when the gear is in neutral and clutch is out. Sometimes it's rather quiet. I'm hoping that it's nothing. I really don't want to replace anything involving removing the transmission for quite a while.

When you go to a composite clutch, no 500 mile break in required. If it holds, it holds... And yes, a 4 puck holds more power... ( I hammer mine from mile 1)

Let her rip.. or as larry says... Git "R" done.

So a 4-puck from RP doesn't require any break in? Sweeet..

So if you're using an organic clutch you should break it in for 500 miles before beating on it? In my experiences with the T3/T2 clutch setup, the clutch would hold great from day 1 and begin to slip after 10-20K miles of hard use as the disc became thin and glazed.
