Is this sensor a must.( I noticed that some ppl have used a vac block where this sensor goes) B/c my manifold is tapped for one but I dont have it.

I think some people have just hooked them up and never had time to tap the later t1 manifolds in some cases and just layed them somewhere. but im pretty shure it has to be plugged in. ask around someone here will possibly just ship it to you if your hard up

Only T2 cars used it I believe.

If you have a T2 computer, you really should install a CTS. If you don't have the sensor, you'll get the CE light and the computer will run lean when it's cold and rich when it's hot (computer assumes 72F). If you have an unmodified T1 cal, there is no benefit to installing the sensor as it's disabled in the code.

the cts is on t2 cars to compensate for the intercooler

my 86 log t1 had the charge air temp sensor and for along time i just had it plugged and sitting on top of the intake between the intectors. later i made a threaded bung in my upper intercooler pipe for it, but no difference in anythign really, jsut looks prettier. and if i didnt have it i would always get a code.
