Be interesting to see how this engine holds up under boost. What psi you gonna run? 5?

BTW Kevin, why don't you get the auto embedded video crap Frank has on TM?

old turd motor did pretty damn good
Gun control is the polar opposite of limp wristed.
only one that doesnt do it is streetfire. when you taking it to the track??
I'd rather be hated for who I am, rather than loved for who I am not.
Well I was gonna tune and race it. I got the methanol pump working again by swapping in a new valve set that I had. Still need to seal it up with copperspray though.
But I just finished driving to Seattle in my Spirit for a trip I didnt really plan on. Won't be back until after labor day so I might miss almost all of the season now. I will probably make a pass at sea level in my n/a 3.0 Spirit. I almost swapped over the turbo parts for kicks while i was here but instead I just installed a 3.50 transmission and ditched the stock 3.0/t1 clutch that i had stolen from the Duster when I bought it. That clutch wouldnt hold at sea level. Used my old small spline 4 puck that I got from eurodrive in 2002 and the Fidanza flywheel I removed from the Duster (running heavier flywheel because thats what the high hp 3/S cars do to prevent crank flex/cracking). I run the weak cast crank so I gotta be extra careful. I am probably tied for all the world records on cast crank numbers and thats only on an itty bitty bit of boost. I think the cast crank can handle 700fwhp because the AWHP numbers include a LOT more drivetrain loss and I think 600awhp is a reasonable limit for cast crank.
One advantage is that Ma Mopar installed a REAL harmonic damper on the 3.0. 3/S cars below 500whp often don't even run their stock pulley/damper combo. NO idea why Ma Mopar developed a damper for the 3.0. Even the 12 valve diamante motor doesn't have one, just the crank pulley that sorta is a damper. I think EEK cars have more room between the motor and frame rail because of where the transmission is located. 3.0's use whatever the 2.2/2.5 transmission position is but the 3.0 is not quite as wide (though its hard to tell because of the ridiculous motor mount bracket crap on the 3.0 passenger side).
Also Kevin, your fastgm.com account is funny! Nice sig. ls7
The top end power is pretty incredible with the higher compression stock pistons on my built heads/cams. My a/f swings 2 full points from 5000 to 6200 rpms. Which means ghetto tuning might not work out so well since I will need to tune 10:1 a/f at 4000 rpms to not reach 13:1 near 6200 limiter. I did bring my megasquirt to seattle so I am going to screw around with it here and make up a harness for it that will splice into the stock harnesses etc. Sorta like a plug in play harness except for....not at all :P
But hopefully be able to change from stock ecu to MS with a few "clicks" of connectors.
Thanks to my BM lover here I can now get valvetrain parts to rev insanely high if I need to. I originally wanted to run a 10 with stock heads/cams but I don't have a good stock heads/cams motor with 8.9:1 pistons (lower top ring) so i don't know if I could run enough boost for a 10 second pass on these pistons. Honestly I may still crank the boost up over 20 on this motor. If it survives it will go into my Spirit as a high compression hx35 holset tow car
I expect 500whp uncorrected from this motor at 4400 feet elevation at 20psi boost and e85 on a stock 6200 rpm limiter and advanced cams. Maybe a LOT higher if we can rev this bitch to 8k with cams straight up or retarded a bit. I want to see when my valves float or lifters collapse. My big cam will probably make me float quite soon on my wimpy stock springs. woot for force fed!

I am kind of shocked the guys on fastgm didn't say much about it. I'd guess they really thought it had a cammed ls7 until they saw under the hood. LOL
